Recent Achievement are as follows:
Labor migration plays a very important role in the social and economic context of Bangladesh. The skills of migrant workers are directly or indirectly contributing to the development of the country. DEMO was established in Chandpur in 1995 and now it symbolizes the faith and trust of the people of Chandpur in providing services with honesty, speed, and commitment. Fingerprint and registration program started in this district from September 2017, currently about 3000 foreign workers are fingerprinted and registered every month. Although a small district, Chandpur ranks 6th among the 42 districts of the country in sending migrant workers. Increased awareness campaigns aimed at ensuring safe immigration have reduced the prevalence of middlemen/brokers and fraudsters. The volume of remittances has increased due to continued campaigns to increase remittance flows. As the workers who want to go abroad get the right direction, the number of workers going abroad in the Upazilas under DEMO Chandpur is increasing successively. Apart from this, various types of services including mandatory online registration, finger print and online visa verification are being provided to foreign workers for the purpose of developing foreign employment management and going abroad in a legal way. As a result, the workers who want to go abroad have been able to complete the necessary tasks of going abroad in a very short time with transparency. The registration fee fixed by the government is contributing to the revenue collection of the government every day. To prevent illegal immigration and increase public awareness, DEMO Chandpur's upazila and union level campaigns are continuing.
In order to ensure the welfare of the affected migrant worker and the family members of the worker, financial grants, compensation, arrears of salary, insurance, service benefits and assistance in case management on behalf of the affected worker are being provided along with scholarships among the meritorious children of the migrant workers, which is making an unprecedented contribution to the improvement of the overall condition of the migrant's family.
Also in 2018, everyone was encouraged in safe immigration by participating in the Global Development Village (GDV) fair at the National Scout Conference organized by Bangladesh Scout in January 2018.
